Years later, The FINALS is still alive and kicking as one of the most innovative shooters on the market. Off the back of its enhanced and improved destruction physics, Embark has added Dynamic Commentary, making online multiplayer more immersive than ever.

The FINALS went the way of many live-service games, starting out strong, but gradually losing its player base. The player base is very stable, though, with the game attracting 20K players peak a day on Steam and presumably more on PlayStation and XBOX. Regular players have been rewarded with a fun commentary addition.

Breaking Bad’s Walter White delivered one of the most iconic lines in TV history as his alter ego, Heisenberg: “Say my name.” Would Embark adopt this quote and implement it into The FINALS? You’re goddamn right.

The FINALS Season 12 adds a new feature called ‘Dynamic Commentary,’ which is in beta for now, as I can only imagine some of the memes and chaos this could cause.

But as shown in the clip below, if your character does something significant or impactful during a match of The FINALS from Season 12 onwards, the in-game announcer will directly read out your name in the context of the situation.

If you don’t want your name read out, you can switch to Anonymous mode, which presumably keeps your actions more general to your team. The FINALS receive flak early on for using text-to-speech AI for its announcers and voice roles, but this is at least a positive use of the technology.
