What the Score System Means (0-100)
Our scores are divided into distinct tiers to give you context for the final number.
91 - 100 | The Peak: These are masterpieces, genre-defining works, and essential experiences. A score in this range means the product has almost no flaws and excels in every category. It is a "Must Play" or "Must See" for everyone.
81 - 90 | Exemplary: A truly excellent piece of media. It has a compelling story, fantastic mechanics or acting, and is highly polished. A score in this range means we highly recommend it, and any flaws are minor.
71 - 80 | Solid & Engaging: This is a good, enjoyable experience that is well worth your time. It may not break new ground, but it is executed very well. We recommend it, especially if you are already a fan of the genre.
61 - 70 | Above Average (With Caveats): The product is decent and functional, but has noticeable shortcomings in critical areas (e.g., poor writing, bugs, repetitive gameplay). We only recommend this to dedicated fans who can overlook specific flaws.
51 - 60 | Mediocre: This product is forgettable, or its bad elements significantly overshadow the good. It is functional, but lacks inspiration or quality. Not recommended unless you can get it at a steep discount.
0 - 50 | Unplayable / Broken: Severe flaws, fundamentally broken mechanics, or a complete lack of redeeming qualities. These works are frustrating, boring, or technically dysfunctional. A score here is an 'Avoid.'
