Studio Mir and Brian Tyree Henry Team Up for Netflix Original ‘Bass X Machina’
Netflix has officially released the first teaser trailer for Bass X Machina, an upcoming original animated series that reimagines the life of legendary Wild West lawman Bass Reeves through an action-packed steampunk sci-fi lens.

Produced by Studio Mir – the animation studio behind Devil May Cry, The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender – the series stars Emmy-nominated actor Brian Tyree Henry as the voice of Bass Reeves. Set against an alternate post-Civil War American frontier, the story follows Reeves, a former enslaved man turned formidable deputy US Marshal, as he navigates a treacherous landscape populated by outlaw gangs, steam-powered mechs, and cybernetic enhancements.
The 78-second teaser trailer offers a high-octane preview of the show’s blend of historical Western lore and futuristic mechanical warfare, showcasing heavy-hitting revolver shootouts, train heists, and colossal mech battles across snow-covered frontier towns.
