Mortal Kombat 2 home release dates confirmed by Warner Bros.

Mortal Kombat fans will be able to relive this year's live-action video game movie sequel in the comfort of their own homes starting in June. New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures announced Tuesday that Mortal Kombat 2 will be available for purchase digitally on June 9, with a physical release of the film coming in July.

After grossing more than $122 million globally since its theatrical release on May 8, Mortal Kombat 2 will become available through Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and other digital movie services. On July 28, Mortal Kombat 2 will be available to own on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD. A streaming release date on HBO Max has not been announced.


The physical releases of Mortal Kombat 2 will include a host of special features. Polygon has an exclusive preview of one of those behind-the-scenes extras, which focuses on the film's stunt work and choreography. Watch for a sneak peek at the actors who portray Johnny Cage, Shao Kahn, Scorpion, and Sindel talking about the physical demands of testing their might in Mortal Kombat.
