Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television have officially cast Dave Bautista to star as Kratos in the upcoming God of War TV series. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor takes over the lead role following an onset injury to previous lead Ryan Hurst.

God of War Laufey was hinted at earlier in the year, and finally unveiled on Tuesday. 20 minutes of uncut footage of Santa Monica’s next God of War game closed out Sony’s State of Play stream and showed off Deborah Ann Woll’s Faye waking up in an afterlife for gods, meeting her new cube BFF, and air juggling some goons in ways Kratos and his centuries-old back only wish they still could.
